Act on Your Vision

I’m proud of what is happening with Decidespace.

Around this time last year, I was debating on how to act on my vision to help people accomplish their goals and do so with a humble heart of gratitude.

Out of those thoughts came a Goal + Gratitude Journal, that I thought I would be able to sell independently online.

I was wrong. Online sales/traffic is way harder than I thought.

So, with hundreds of journals littering my living room, bedroom, storage closet…

I was forced to look outside myself for help.

I started going to local bookstores, seeing if they would be interested in partnering with me in selling these journals.

I was shocked by the response. I’ve only gone in person to 10 bookstores, and of the ten I’ve met with 8 managers/owners, and 7 of them bought journals to sell in their stores immediately.

Lesson learned: your plans work better when you understand community.

Other people share your values. You do not exist in a vacuum. Everything is related in some way or another, and you need people to catch your vision. Be appreciative regardless of whether they can catch your vision at that moment or not.

What do You Think?
