What does decidespace mean to me?

It’s difficult to get into what the mission for this project is without diving head first into what drives me (that’s me over there).

I am a person who is fully aware that life has been relatively handed to me. I have a college degree, a stable job, a solid support system and recently got married and became a homeowner. Taking these steps wasn’t so much a decision I had to make as it was an understood course of action. I’ve been guided, taught, and trained throughout my whole life.

This understanding has driven me to a conclusion: Life’s not fair.

I personally have received too much. No matter what you believe in, whether you call it good karma or God’s grace, there is a balance to the universe and it has swung in my favor. When this reality hits you, it hits you with a vengeance. It’s not enough to just be thankful for what I have – I feel an immense amount of internal pressure to increase these same opportunities for other people.

I believe that each person can decide what life they will lead, and where their journey will take them.

Understanding this, I pushed for an idea that would educate people of this truth, and enable them to see the options on the path ahead. It’s not enough to just think of what you want in life, it needs to be brought into reality. It needs to be written down, strategically planned for, and progress tracked.

Decidespace is a platform to enable people to reach inside and draw out the best in themselves.

The simplest product is the Journey Blog, where I will share what I am learning while trying to navigate this whole thing. The physical product is a planning and personal development tool created to encourage people towards real progress in achieving the incredible goals they set their mind on. But it’s much more than just goal planning and progress tracking – there are intentional disruptions to the workflow to remind you to tell someone you are thankful for the way they have helped you achieve your goal. These gratitude notes encourage collaborative success, networking skills, and mindfulness towards accomplishing things the right way, with a positive and inclusive mindset. There are three components to Decidespace, all driven by the motives of action and encouragement:
